The latest stage has been revealed for the upcoming Super Smash Bros. for the Wii U and 3DS. As indicated on Gameranx, the level in question is Pyrosphere from the mildly received Metroid: Other M.
The image first surfaced on Miiverse. Additionally, a hint stating that “an enemy from Samus’s past may appear at any second…” was revealed alongside the screen. Could this mean a completely new fighter is joining the Smash Bros. roster? Or will this enemy be exclusively an environmental intruder?
Not surprisingly, the reception to this stage hasn’t been exactly hot. Quite a few folks weren’t very fond of Other M. Personally, that’s one of my favorite Metroid games, and I enjoy the more “traditional” battle arenas in Smash Bros., so I’m looking forward to learning more about Pyrosphere.
