With AMD’s GPU offerings on the high end set to debut later this month in the form of the R9 290 and R290X, Nvidia isn’t sitting idle. The company announced during its Montreal press event that a successor to the GTX780 is due in mid-November, aptly named the GTX 780 Ti.

No specs were divulged, unfortunately, though it’s likely we’ll be hearing more in the coming weeks as November isn’t too far off. In any case, judging from the product shot, the cooler appears to sport the same sleek design as on reference GTX 780s and the Titan.

Considering the GTX 780 is only around 7% slower than the $1000 Titan in most cases, there’s not a whole lot of wiggle room there. The new 780 Ti variant could very well emerge as the flagship of Nvidia’s overall product stack, dethroning even the Titan, but we’ll have to wait and see.
