Nidhogg

Designer Mark Essen’s two-player dueling game Nidhogg has officially landed. The game hit Steam this morning, promising good old-fashioned local competitive multiplayer in addition to some single player modes, leaderboards, and eight-player tournament mode.

This is the kind of game we don’t really see enough of these days, which is kind of a shame considering couch multiplayer is so much fun. Of course, if you don’t actually have any friends (aww), you can always get paired up with other players through the online multiplayer component.

Nidhogg is priced at $14.99, though thanks to the magic of launch day sales, you can snag it at 20 percent off, or $11.99. You can even pick up the two-pack, which will run you $26.99. There’s also a 20 percent off sale on that bundle, which means you’ll get two copies of Nidhogg for $21.59, so you can pass one along to a buddy.
