The Order 1886

If you were wondering whether or not The Order: 1886 will sport a multiplayer component, you can put those thoughts to rest. In an interview with German site Play3 (translated by Behind Games), Ready at Dawn head Ru Weerasuriya explained that the upcoming PlayStation 4 title would offer a single-player campaign and no multiplayer.

The news was further confirmed on Twitter, where Ready at Dawn Founder and Chief Technical Officer Andrea Pessino tweeted, “Correct. No multiplayer, it is a single player, third person action adventure game.”

In addition to this news, Weerasuriya briefly discussed The Order being ported to the PlayStation 3: “We [are] currently work[ing] on the PS4 version. Games are always designed for cross-platforms, but clearly, if there is a possibility to take over the physics system to other platforms, we would use this.”

As far as a multiplayer component is concerned, it’s kind of nice that Ready at Dawn isn’t just jumping head-first into the notion of adding this feature simply for the sake of it. Also, if The Order does indeed get ported to the PlayStation 3, that would be pretty cool for folks who’ve yet to make the jump to Sony’s newer platform.
