Borderlands The Pre-Sequel

Earlier this week, 2K Games announced that Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel would be coming to the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC this fall. For fans of the series, that means yet another round of shooting and looting tomfoolery.

The game takes place before the events of Borderlands 2 and tells the tale of Handsome Jack’s rise to power and douchebaggery. Rather than being set in Pandora, The Pre-Sequel takes place on Pandora’s moon, which means there will be all kinds of crazy low-gravity mayhem.

Jetpack action will also make its mark on the Borderlands series, and several new weapon types will be introduced. These include new ice and laser guns. There will also be new vehicles, so you can explore the moon in different ways if you’d rather not be on foot at all times.

This time around, the four playable classes are comprised of familiar Borderlands characters. Athena the Gladiator from The Secret Armory of General Knox, Wilhelm the Enforcer of Borderlands 2 fame, Nisha the Lawbringer who was the Lynchwood sheriff in Borderlands 2, and the infamous Claptrap (known in The Pre-Sequel as Claptrap the Fragtrap) will all team up for the latest FPS/RPG adventure from Gearbox.

As a fan of the series, I’m excited to just play more Borderlands. If you’re at PAX East, you can check the game out for yourself at the 2K booth.
