In a revealing interview with The Escapist, Valve developer Robin Walker dropped word that a tenth character class for Team Fortress 2 is under consideration. While no plans are set in stone, Walker mentioned that the prime focus right now is to upgrade all existing classes, as we have seen with the Heavy and Pyro updates. In other words, it’ll most likely be awhile before this new class is finalized.
Walker also mentioned that entirely new gameplay modes will be added at a later date. “We’re aiming to keep shipping class updates, trying out new game modes and evolving the way we can bring players into the ongoing design of the game,” he noted.
It’s certainly been exciting to see TF2 evolve over time. We can’t wait to see what else Valve has in store.
