Factor 5: Easier to port from PS3 to 360

In a recent Q&A session, Factor 5’s Julian Eggebrecht stated that he believes it’s easier to port PS3 games to 360, rather than vice-versa. Getting technical, he says that Xbox 360 game engines are created with a unified memory architecture in mind and feature use of an embedded frame buffer.

PS3 streamlines over two separate memory pools instead of using an embedded frame buffer. Because of this, all advantages you had with the 360 suddenly turn into disadvantages when porting over to the PS3.

I suppose that this explains the recent influx of PS3 to 360 ports then.
