Sony? Yeah, some might say they aren’t doing so hot right now. But, y’know, things might be a changin’ soon, especially with Metal Gear Solid 4 due out by this holiday season. What!? MGS 4 this year? According to Sony Computer Entertainment Europe representative Jonathan Fargher, the answer is a definitive yes:

It will be towards the end of the year when the big titles start to show what the PS3 can really do and hopefully make people feel more comfortable about the decision they made to invest in our hardware.

Titles due to hit the shelves in the Christmas run-up include the latest installment of favourites such as Grand Theft Auto, Metal Gear Solid, Ratchet and Clank, Crash Bandicoot and Jak and Daxter, he added.

Smart move if true. Metal Gear Solid 4 will undoubtedly be a system seller, and what better time to release it than during the holidays?
