Ace Attorney Creator Expresses Interest In Nintendo 3DS

Nintendo has remained highly secretive of its glasses-free 3D-capable handheld up until last week at E3, where the Nintendo 3DS was finally shown to media and industry professionals. Shu Takumi, creator of Capcom’s popular courtroom drama series Ace Attorney, was among those who laid eyes on the device for the first time.

The sheer amount of possibilities offered by the 3DS piqued Takumi’s interest, though he’s still undecided on how to leverage the tech. “We just saw it here; we’re not sure what we can do with [the technology] yet,” explained Takumi in an interview with VideoGamer.

He added, “But certainly if the opportunity presented itself and we could make it, then it might be a really good chance for us to use that technology.”

With a focus on exploration in confined settings, Ace Attorney is a perfect fit for the 3DS if you ask us. Judging from our hands-on time with the device, 3D would certainly add to the immersion factor. That said, time will tell if the franchise makes the jump. If it’s any consolation, Takumi sounds willing to take on the challenge.
