Silent Hill 3 To Hit Silver Screen

Konami is taking a second stab at bringing its moody horror franchise Silent Hill to movie theaters — this time in 3D. Entitled Silent Hill: Revelation, the second film is based on the plot of Silent Hill 3, chronicling Heather Mason’s search for her father.

According to a Fangoria report, scriptwriter Roger Avar will not reprise his role, a result of personal complications with the law. Instead, Michael J. Bassett of Wilderness and Deathwatch fame has been tasked with penning the script.

The original Silent Hill fared rather well at the box office, at least by video game adaptation standards. Catch the official synopsis for Revelation after the break.

For years, Heather Mason and her father have been on the run, always one step ahead of dangerous forces that she doesn’t fully understand. Now on the eve of her 18th birthday, plagued by terrifying nightmares and the disappearance of her father, Heather discovers she’s not who she thinks she is. The revelation leads her deeper into a demonic world that threatens to trap her in Silent Hill forever.
