Square Enix is dipping into its backcatalog once again, announcing that 1999’s time-bending PSOne RPG Chrono Cross is set to receive a digital re-release on the Japanese PSN. The revelation stems from an announcement on the official Square Enix Members Twitter account, which just hit 20,000 followers.

No indication was given as to when it’ll see a release on the service. Unfortunately, as North America and Europe lag behind Japan on the PSOne Classics front, a localized release may be a distant prospect. Knowing Square Enix’s dilly-dally attitude when it comes to localizing these digital conversions, those with an immediate urge to play this gem may be better served by tracking down a physical copy.
