Final Fantasy IV The Complete Collection PSP Heads Stateside This April

In a not-so-shocking revelation, Square Enix today announced that it is gearing up to release Final Fantasy IV The Complete Collection in North America. This comes following the successful debut of the full-blown FFIV remake on DS and its 16-bit styled WiiWare sequel The After Years.

Exclusive to PSP, Final Fantasy IV The Complete Collection combines both the original outing and The After Years in one tidy package. As a bonus, it also features upgraded 2D visuals designed for the PSP’s 16:9 screen. The art style is reminiscent of the Final Fantasy I & II mobile remakes.

Also promised is new content, which consists of “never-before-seen levels” and musical arrangements. Look for it to hit shelves on UMD April 19. Oddly — or perhaps not so oddly given Square Enix’s track record when it comes to digital-retail parity, the press release did not mention a PSN release.
