The long-dormant Parasite Eve franchise will receive its much-anticipated revival in the form of The 3rd Birthday come March 29, Square Enix has announced. A PSP exclusive, the title is billed as an action RPG that aims to break new ground in the story-driven shooter space.

Square Enix has recruited talent from Hollywood for the effort, including Yvonne Strahovski of NBC’s Chuck fame, who voices series protagonist Aya Brea. This comes following her previous video game stint as Miranda in Mass Effect 2.

“I was immediately interested when Square Enix approached me with the opportunity to play Aya Brea in The 3rd Birthday. I love Aya – she’s strong, driven and ready to take on the world,” said Strahovski. “My goal was to bring all of her characteristics to life to really tell her story and create the best experience for all gamers.”
