As part of its digital initiative, Capcom today announced Plunder for the Xbox Live Arcade, PlayStation Network, and PC.

Developed by Certain Affinity, best known for their work on various Halo multiplayer maps, Plunder is a hex based strategy game in which players are cast in the role of commanding an army of perilous pirates. Players can team up with friends online or a bounty of AI-controlled pirate ships to raid villages, sink lone merchant ships, seize towns and steal gold.

The game features online multiplayer for up to eight players, or up to four players locally on a single console. Players can select from 25 pre-made multiplayer maps or create their own using the game’s built-in map editor and share them with friends over the net.

Plunder is scheduled for a release later this summer. Have a look at the first screenshots after the jump.
