Update: PS Vita firmware 1.65 is now live — grab it via Network Update or direct download here.

Sony’s announced that PS Vita firmware 1.65 will be available soon, incorporating the following minor enhancements:

* A “Notification Alert” option will be added to Settings, so you can toggle alerts on or off
* “After 10 minutes” will be added to the time options under Power Save Settings
* An Arrow icon will now appear when PS Vita finds new activities in the LiveArea
* Caps Lock will be supported in the On Screen Keyboard

Nothing to salivate over unfortunately — we were personally holding out hope for emulated PSOne support. Still, a few additional options are better than nothing. We’ll update when the firmware goes live.
