‘Hearthfire’ Trademarked by ZeniMax, What Does It Mean?

ZeniMax has been on a trademarking spree over the past couple of months. First, “Fus Ro Dah” became an official trademark of the company last month. Then, not too long ago, ZeniMax set out to copyright the term “Dragonborn.”

Now, a trademark for “Hearthfire” has been filed, reports Fusible. If you’re a Skyrim fan, you’re probably aware that Hearthfire is an in-game season, and Hearth Fire is a conjuration spell book from the 2920 series of books from Skyrim.

What does this trademarking business mean as far as Hearthfire is concerned? It could just be ZeniMax putting a copyright on an original term. Or, as noted on Destructoid, it could very well be a hint of possible DLC following Dawnguard. The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim – Hearthfire? Yeah, that totally sounds like it would be a new DLC pack. Expect it in late 2013!
