New details have surfaced regarding the upcoming Persona 4 Arena. According to Director Kazuhisa Wada, the game will feature a lengthy story mode that will take players anywhere between 30 and 40 hours to complete, reports Andriasang. That’s pretty lengthy for a story mode in a 2D fighter, but if it delivers a great plot, it could be an awesome addition.

Rather than being just another extra in a fighting game, Wada explained that Persona 4 Arena would feature a full-fledged narrative rife with voice acting. Developer Arc System Works has been known to include lengthy story modes into its BlazBlue series, and with the Persona team working on the game’s story, it’s more thank likely that fans will get something right on par with the long-running RPG franchise.

Persona 4 Arena will tell the events that occurred following Persona 4, so that’s something that’s sure to please longtime fans of the series. Story modes in fighting games are ignored all too often in order to completely focus on fast-paced arcade gameplay. It’s good to see the folks behind Persona adding what will hopefully be a strong narrative aspect into their upcoming fighter.
