Dance Magic on PSN Will Have You Dancing to Fight

Well, this is certainly a bit odd. Gaijin Entertainment has announced that its dancing fighter (?) Dance Magic will launch on the PlayStation Network on Tuesday, January 8. The game features Move-based gameplay and relies on motions to perform dance moves … that also do damage.

Players can engage in duels, take on a campaign mode, and battle it out all with wacky dance moves. Judging from the trailer above, successfully performing specific actions before your opponent deals damage to him or her. I’m not one for dancing games, but I suppose this is quite an interesting take on the genre.

Dance Magic will include 20 tracks right from the get-go. More songs will be available for purchase on the PlayStation Store. This project could really go both ways. On the one hand, it could fail as many motion control titles have before it. On the other hand, though, it could make for a fun party gaming experience.
