2K Strips Activation Limits From BioShock PC

Last year, some folks who bought BioShock for the PC weren’t happy. Not with the game itself, but rather with 2K’s copy protection scheme. The game employed an online activation system that limited the number of times a copy could be installed on multiple computers.

Good news, though. According to a statement from 2K community manager Elizabeth, “all activation restrictions, including install limits, have been removed from BioShock PC.” Even better, no patch is required, as this was done over on the server side.

Elizabeth did note, however, that consumers will still need to activate their copy of the game online before playing. All that’s gone is the actual activation limit.
