Today Level-5 released Layton Brothers Mystery Room for iOS devices. The game is a spin-off of the wildly successful Professor Layton series seen on the DS and 3DS handhelds from Nintendo.

It’s up to Inspector Alfendi Layton and Detective Constable Lucy Baker to solve a series of grisly murders. Seriously, they’re grisly — just look at that shattered class and blood puddle in the screen above.

You can download this adventure game for free on your iPhone, iPad, or iPod Touch, though you’ll only get the first two capers. More cases can be purchased in-app.
