Batman Arkham Origins

The Dark Knight has taken a stand once more, this time battling the evil (and inadequate … and largely ignored) Games for Windows Live platform. In a statement to IGN Australia, Warner Bros. revealed that Batman: Arkham Origins will neither track Achievements nor handle multiplayer functionality via Microsoft’s PC service.

Instead, the game will utilize Steam, thus taking a more normal (and much more popular) route. Makes sense, especially when you consider the fact that hardly anyone really gives a damn about Games for Windows Live.

Previously, both Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City functioned with the service. Sadly, that caused a lot of problems for plenty of folks, making it difficult to back up save files and just creating unnecessary installation issues. Thank goodness that won’t be the case with Arkham Origins.
