Sony has announced a brand new product in its line of PlayStation hardware: the Vita TV. This micro-console of sorts will allow you to play your Vita titles through your TV, which I’m willing to bet hard money has a much bigger screen than the actual handheld device. The Vita TV is due out in Japan on November 14.

Adopters of the charmingly tiny system will be able to play over 1,000 Vita, PSP, and PSOne games. Additionally, streaming services like Hulu will run on the Vita TV, as well. And if that’s not enough, remote play for the PlayStation 4 will also be supported, so you’ll be able to enjoy your spiffy new PlayStation 4 titles from another TV in your house. Obviously, details on this feature are currently under wraps, but a future update following the launch of Sony’s next major home platform will add this functionality.

Two DualShock 3 controllers can be connected to the Vita TV. The console also supports memory cards, and it includes an internal 1G memory card. And in case you were wondering, yes, it comes with an HDMI cable right out of the box. I mean, why wouldn’t it, right?

The Vita TV will be priced at 9,954 yen, which translates to roughly $100. A bundle that packs in a DualShock 3 and 8GB memory card will also be available for 14,994 yen, or just about $150. No word on a release in the west just yet, but it’s likely that we’ll get word of that in the near future.
