Batman: Arkham Games Ditching Games for Windows Live

Batman Arkham City

We already knew that Batman: Arkham Origins won’t be arriving on Games for Windows Live (seriously, why would it?). Now, though, it looks like the current games in the series, Batman: Arkham Asylum and Batman: Arkham City, are being removed from the weak platform as Microsoft does away with it (about time, damn it!).

As indicated on Steam, though, you’ll be able to download your games on Valve’s service if you purchased them at retail. All you have to do is enter your code, and bam! Unfortunately, this also means you’ll have to start a new file from the beginning if you didn’t already own the game on Steam.

Thankfully, it’s not all bad news. Case in point: If you only own the regular version of either title, you’ll be upgraded to the Game of the Year Edition for both automatically and at no charge. By the way, both Arkham Asylum and Arkham City are on sale on Steam through the weekend. You can get them for $5 and $7.50, respectively, which is most certainly nice.
