by Mike Bendel July 3, 2008 @ 4:39 pm

Sakya’s lightweight yet feature-packed audio player LightMP3 is nearing closer to its final release, as the developer today released beta 2 of the application. The update features several noteworthy enhancements, including implementation of BenHur’s intraFont library for smoother text display, along with multi-language support and the ability to rate stored tracks on your memory stick.

For the complete and rather extensive changelog, hit up the break.

Additions

* Switched to OSLib MOD, now supports intraFont
* New skin system (now all the elements can be moved, see skin.cfg) – font is defined in the skin.cfg file
* In the Media Library you can play a track pressing CROSS (like in the file browser)
* You can rate your tracks in the Media Library (CROSS + DPAD UP/DOWN)
* English, Italian, Portuguese and Russian languages added – many thanks to fabiom, coach777, Magic PSP
* Help screen (press L + R)
* You can add selected playlist to the current one (press START in the playlist browser)
* Directories are marked with a leading “/” in the file browser
* You can check a playlist with triangle (removes dead*links)
* Option for keys autorepeat interval
* “Top 100” in media library
* Option to enable/disable splash screen
* “Browse All” now selectable in media library
* Cover displayed in file browser and in Media Library (stay 0.5 seconds on an item) – works only with folder.jpg and cover.jpg (does not read coverart images from ID3v2)
* Display now fades in and out when you toggle economy mode
* Music pause if you remove the headphones while listening to a track

Bug fixes

* Playback of mono MP3 using libMAD
* Faster navigation between functions
* Crash in playlist editor when press UP, RIGHT or NOTE on an empty list
* Stop FLAC playback
* Analog was working also in HOLD
