To the Moon has garnered a bit of acclaim as a standout storytelling experience. Its focus is on narrative, and it delivers a touching and thoughtful plot, which is definitely nice to see in games. If you’re a fan of To the Moon, you’ll be glad to know that developer Freebird Games has released some extra content for the holidays.

As reported by creator Kan Gao on the Freebird blog, the extra content is a special holiday mini-sode. At roughly 20 minutes, it’s not exactly a lengthy affair, but it’s free, so that’s pretty cool.

Gao also touched on his upcoming project A Bird Story. Despite the delay, the dev stated that the game will indeed come — it’s just going to take a little longer. In the meantime, at least we have the free holiday episode to tide us over.
