Year of Luigi Will Finally Comes to an End on March 18

Year of Weegee

Never has a video game character deserved very little recognition like Luigi. Let’s be real here: Sure, he’s starred in some great games, but he’s kind of a pansy, and he’s not likable at all (except maybe a little in the Mario & Luigi games). For some reason, though, Nintendo decided to celebrate the inferior plumber brother’s 30th anniversary.

Thankfully, The Year of Luigi will soon come to an end. As announced by Shigeru Miyamoto in a Miiverse post, the year-long campaign (it’ll actually have lasted over a year once it’s over) will come to an end on March 18. Well, it was about time, wasn’t it?

Following the end of the promotion, The Year of Luigi Community and Developers’ Room will close down. This means that fans of Luigi won’t be able to post on the undeserving character’s community. You can, however, submit one final comment directed toward Luigi on Miyamoto’s post.

So now that this is almost over with, when are getting the much more awesome Year of Wario? Come on, Nintendo, make it happen!
