Serious Sam 3 BFE

Serious Sam 3: BFE is a nice game. Well, it’s not “nice” in the traditional sense, but it’s pretty kick-ass, and that makes it nice to me. It’s one of my favorite FPS titles of the past few years, and it looks like I’m going to add a third copy to my digital library alongside the Xbox Live Arcade and Steam versions as the PlayStation 3 edition is finally coming.

As announced by publisher Devolver Digital on Twitter, Serious Sam 3 has officially been certified for Sony’s platform. The Croteam-developed FPS has been available on other platforms for a couple of years, but this latest news is great for folks who’ve yet to play it … or people like me who wouldn’t mind playing it again.

What makes Serious Sam 3 such a blast is its intense gunfights that pit you against hundreds of baddies in large, open spaces. Sam’s frequent commentary, which is pleasantly comedic, also adds to the experience. But it’s that old school shooting action that truly stands out the most. Also, the game is hella difficult. Yes, it’s so hard that I needed to use the word “hella.”

Serious Sam 3 launched on Steam in 2011 and made its way to Xbox Live Arcade one year later. Devolver Digital will be announcing the PlayStation 3 release date soon.
