It may not bear the Harvest Moon name in its title on account of Natsume not being involved, but Story of Seasons is very much in line with its predecessors.

The game, which is coming to the 3DS sometime this year, will feature all of the farming simulation that fans have fallen in love with over the years. In addition to all of the crops, livestock, and potential mates, there will also be magical creatures like pint-sized goddesses and witches.

Story of Seasons will also get a little Animal Cross-y. As noted on Destructoid, you’ll be able to discover items from the Mario universe including mushrooms, Fire Flowers, and Stars, all of which can be collected and used to spruce up your humble abode.

StreetPass functionality will also be incorporated, and Story of Seasons players will be able to visit others’ farms to help them toil the land, grow new crops, and just shoot the breeze.
