Armikrog

About a month ago, Pencil Test Studios and Earthworm Jim creator Doug TenNapel announced that they were working on an adventure game called Armikrog. Featuring a sweet stop-motion claymation art style, this project is a spiritual successor to the heralded cult classic The Neverhood. The team is currently running a Kickstarter campaign for Armikrog, and it has just announced plans to make a Wii U version if fans can back the game enough to hit the stretch goal for that particular platform.

Some exclusive features have been announced for this edition of the game. These include Wii U GamePad inventory functionality, but you can also use the controller as a “seeing device” when you hold it up to the TV screen. This specific feature will come into play during the game’s “Beak-Beak Cam” sequences.

As of this writing, Armikrog is over $250,000 shy of its Kickstarter goal with three days left to go. Other titles have managed to reach their backing within the last days  and even hours of their campaigns in the past, and Armikrog looks really awesome, so here’s hoping the same happens with this project.
