Basement Crawl

We haven’t really heard much about Basement Crawl since it was announced. I mean, we knew there was a picture of a scary-ass midget clown, but that was it. Now, though, developer Bloober Team has revealed some new info on the European PlayStation Blog.

Basement Crawl is a 2.5D maze-based action title that requires players to use strategy to get the jump on their adversaries. Bloober explained that the upcoming title is influenced by classics such as Spy vs. Spy and Bomberman. While there will be a single-player component featuring enemy bots, the core experience is based around multiplayer, with four-player local, eight-player online, and combination play.

There will be a big emphasis on skill as opposed to chance, clarified Bloober. “Expect to have much more control over what’s happening to you in every second of the game and expect to have to find your way out of situations by using your reflexes and fast thinking,” stated the developer.

The current plan is to release Basement Crawl for the PlayStation 4 during the console’s launch window.
