The next Team Fortress 2 class due for a major update is the Sniper, Valve revealed in a recent blog post. Billed as the “largest TF2 update yet,” it’ll also include several new maps and gameplay enhancements. Another update is in the works as well that will bring fresh content to all classes. Though further details were not provided, Valve is looking to go live with this particular update before making changes on the Sniper.

For those getting their TF2 fix on a Xbox 360, Valve hasn’t forgotten about you. The 360-specific TF2 update, which will be comprised of all fixes and improvements made on the PC side thus far, is still actively under development. While a few issues have been encountered due to a lack of memory on the 360, Valve is busy finding workarounds:

The original version of TF2 in the Orange Box was very close to the XBox’s memory limit, and all the additional TF2 content we’ve produced has pushed well beyond it. We’ve found a couple of nifty ways to get back a bunch of that memory, but it’s turned out to be a lot of work, and that’s what most of our time is being spent on.

In the interim, an update designed to prevent unscrupulous cheating on the 360 side will be released. No specific date was provided, however.
