Four More Cut Ties With Infinity Ward

The proverbial ship that held Infinity Ward together is sinking at a rapid pace. The mass exodus continues as another four key members have parted ways with the Activision-owned studio, bringing the total departure count to eleven, according to sources close to Kotaku.

Among those that left are Steve Fukuda and Zied Reike. Both served as lead designers on Modern Warfare 2 during their tenure. The same sources also indicate that programmer Rayme Vinson and lead artist Chris Cherubini have cut their involvement with the studio.

Yesterday, programmer Jon Shiring and designer Mackey McCandlish announced their departure from the studio, which just so happened to coincide with EA’s announcement of an all-new startup led by IW co-founders Jason West and Vince Zampella — Respawn Entertainment.

We have to wonder, if the fallout continues, will Activision be forced to make a drastic move to keep the IW name alive? Like, say, merging it with Treyarch. The thought lingers.
