Ubisoft Officially Unveils Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood

Following an early reveal last week, Ubisoft has lfted the wraps on Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood. Billed as the “next iteration” of the critically acclaimed franchise, this entry introduces a multiplayer component. Although we’ve known that bit of detail for some time, today Ubisoft finally shed light on how it will play out, leaving us with even more questions.
According to the announcement, “Players can help the Templars by using Abstergo to train in the art of Assassination to eliminate the Assassins once and for all. Players can choose from a wide range of unique characters, each with their own signature weapons and assassination techniques, and match their skills against other players from all over the world in different game modes.” What these gameplay modes entail and how the multiplayer component will tie-in with the main story, if at all, is still unknown at this point.
The single-player campaign sees the return of Ezio as he embarks on a journey into Rome on a mission to strike against a formidable and familiar foe, the Templar Order.
Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood is slated for a holiday 2010 release on PC, PS3, and Xbox 360. More details are expected to surface in the June issue of PlayStation: The Official Magazine, ahead of E3.
