Publisher EA today set a date on Monkey Island co-creator Ron Gilbert’s latest effort — Deathspank. Billed as an Diablo-style action-RPG, the humor-laden title invites players to tackle legions of undead foes in a loot-filled hack n’ slash romp full of quips and snarky dialogue.

Developed by Hothead Games, it’s slated to PSN on July 13, with a release on XBLA following a day later. Offline couch co-op for up to two players is supported, allowing for a friend to take on the role of DeadSpank’s trusty mage sidekick, Sparkles the Wizard.

The admission fee is set at $15 bones, or 1200 MS Points, depending on your platform of choice.
