Nintendo Returns As CES Exhibitor, First Time In 16 Years

Expect a mouthful of 3D talk at CES next year. But it won’t be coming exclusively from Sony and other big-name TV manufactures this time around.

A press release issued by the Consumer Electronics Association today has revealed an unlikely exhibitor for CES 2011: Nintendo. What makes the Big N’s appearance so significant is that it hasn’t showed up at the Las Vegas-based event in 16 years.

Major gaming exhibitors include: AMD, HP, Intel, Lenovo, LevelUp, Logitech, Microsoft, Nintendo, Nokia, Sony and more.

Looks like more 3DS info at CES 2011 is a given. Taking Nintendo’s history into account, this comes as a bit of a surprise, but it’s a move that makes perfect sense.

CES 2011 kicks off January 6-9, 2011.
