According to tweets from several team members, layoffs hit Fallout New Vegas developer Obsidian Entertainment today. The redundancies include producers Akil Hooper and Jason Fader, along with programmer Justin Reynard and QA tester Ashley Betters.
“11 years, nearly a dozen shipped titles, Designer, Lead, Producer. 1 canceled game, survived 7 layoffs, 8th got me. Not a bad track record,” tweeted Hooper, ending a 11 year stint with the company.
While the total count of dismissals is unknown, a forum post over on Obsidian’s official site indicates that more jobs were axed. Producer Tess Treadwell and designer Sydney Wolfram have reportedly been forced to part ways, as well as three interns. Obsidian has yet to issue an official statement on the matter.
