Square Enix ‘Investigating’ Final Fantasy XI PS Vita Port

Given that Sony is taking a more serious approach to online with the PS Vita, will we see games that bank entirely on online connectivity, like MMOs? To that end, Square Enix is mulling over the prospect of bringing Final Fantasy XI over, according to producer Hiromichi Tanaka.
And that’s pretty much the long and short of it. According to an Andriasang report, there’s no solid plan laid out at moment. Not too surprising, since Square Enix has yet to formally announce any projects for the platform.
At least we know know they’re thinking about it, right? XI may be old, yet it still has a dedicated player base, something the company is struggling to attain with its more recent attempt in the MMO space — Final Fantasy XIV.
