The indie sandbox sensation that is Minecraft is growing up. Notch and co are hosting an event in Las Vegas this November, aptly dubbed MineCon. Tickets went on sale today, starting at $99.

Arranged to celebrate the November launch of Minecraft, when it finally exits beta, the event will feature build contests, a keynote speech from Notch himself, and “exhibits by leading gaming and Minecraft related companies.” A wealth of commemorative merchandise will also be up for grabs.

While the early bird rate for tickets is $99, this will rise to $139.00 starting October 1. Moreover, the first 500 registrants will be entered to win “The Ultimate Fan Experience,” which includes accommodation at the Mandalay Bay hotel, VIP seating to Keynotes and Classes, and a meal with Team Mojang.
