Joker Creator Jerry Robinson Dies At 89

It is with sadness that we report that one of the original artists for the Joker has passed away in his sleep this past Wednesday at 89 yrs old. The Joker is one of the most iconic characters in the comic book world as well as popular culture. He recently won recognition for character of the year at the Video Game Awards last night for his appearance in Batman: Arkham City.

The Joker has been terrorizing Gotham City since he debuted in the Batman comics in 1940 and has been one of, if not the greatest Batman villain of all time. Robinson was at the forefront that restored the rights to the original creators of Superman to creators Jerry Siegel and Joe Shuster. Robinson is survived by his wife, two children and two grandchildren. RIP
