Gran Turismo Mobile Still Under Development, 2008 Release Unlikely

We know that Gran Turismo 5 is in the spotlight right now and all, but what’s going on with Gran Turismo Mobile for PSP? Last year, rumors surfaced that the PSP edition of Polyphony’s flagship racer might have been (gasp) cancelled. Reassuringly, that’s not the case, as GT creator Kazunori Yamauchi points out in a recent interview that GT Mobile is still being worked on:
We had been developing the PSP version, but the problem was that the PS3 version took much more time and effort than we had first imagined. So that’s been delayed – I don’t think we’ll be able to make the end of this year for the PSP version, but we are working on it.
Still working on it, eh? That’s good to hear. 2009 release? Not so good to hear.
