MTV: Microsoft To Release Wii Remote Imitation By Year’s End
by April 7, 2008 @ 3:52 pm

MTV News, citing an unnamed Xbox 360 developer, reports that Microsoft plans to release an imitation of Nintendo’s Wii Remote motion-sensing controller by the end of this year.
Details are sketchy, but according to MTV’s source, the controller has been in the works since summer 2007. Perfect Dark Zero developer Rare is said to be working on a “unified interface and look for the controller” but has had trouble with meeting deadlines as of late, according to the anonymous source.
The source described the whole idea surrounding the controller as a “colossal clusterf—,” noting that Microsoft wants the controller simply so that “they can match the Wii point for point.” Also mentioned by the source were marketing materials that, apparently, give a summary of “how easy it would be for third parties to port their Wii games to the 360.”
Could this be Microsoft’s big E3 2008 announcement?
