Crytek Not Working on Crysis 3 for Wii U Right Now

Late last month, Crytek’s Mike Read stated that Crysis 3 on the Wii U could definitely happen. As is customary internet practice, folks took what the producer said in a completely erroneous light, jumping to the conclusion that the game was, in fact, being developed for Nintendo’s upcoming console. Now, this obviously doesn’t apply to everyone in the gaming community, but there were several people who could have sworn that Crysis 3 was landing on the Wii U.

Technically, that’s still a possibility; Crysis 3 could make its way to the Big N’s next platform. But at the moment, Crytek is not working on that version of the game. ” Just to answer the speculation, we are not currently working on a Wii U version of #Crysis3,” tweeted Crytek General Manager Nick Button-Brown.

So there you have it, internet. Is Crysis 3 in development for the Wii U? Currently, it’s not. Could it potentially be ported to the console? Of course it can. For now, though, we’ll have to wait on the Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC versions of the game. And really, I think it’s best if we just expect those versions for now until we get word on a Wii U version straight from Crytek or Nintendo … but mainly Crytek.
