Resident Evil 6 Copies Stolen from Capcom, Being Sold on eBay

Well, this isn’t good. It appears that a number of copies of Resident Evil 6 have been stolen. The wily rapscallions that got their dirty paws on final copies of the game have even begun selling them on eBay. Capcom has addressed the situation, stating that only a small number of PlayStation 3 copies of Resident Evil 6 are being distributed.

“Capcom is currently undertaking a thorough investigation into reports that Resident Evil 6 is being sold ahead of its official October 2 release date,” Capcom told Eurogamer. “At this time, all we can add is that it would appear this unfortunate incident is limited to a small quantity of stolen copies of the German USK PlayStation 3 version of the game.”

While it’s unfortunate that this happened, I still think it’s kind of funny that some people are actually shelling out stupidly large amounts of cash for a game that’s due out in a month. One moron bid €478.78 for the stolen game, which currently has a ridiculously high €1,196.71 asking price. Speaking of ridiculously high, I’m assuming that’s what you’d have to be to pay way more for a product just to get it a few weeks ahead of launch.
