Nintendo previously announced that New Super Mario Bros. 2 would feature post-launch DLC. While details were scarce, we knew the company would develop some Coin Rush challenge levels for the 3DS platformer. A translated report on Joystiq indicates that three content packs were revealed on a Japanese edition of Nintendo Direct.

Go! Go! As Gold Mario Pack will feature three levels where you’ll play as Gold Mario. Here you’ll be able to snag up to 30,000 coins. Challenge the Record A Pack will allow you to get on the leaderboards, posting top scores on the New Super Mario Bros. 2 website. Last, the Survival Panic Pack will introduce some highly challenging levels to play through.

So far, all we know is that the DLC will be available in Japan on October 2 for 200 yen (roughly $2.57). No word on when North America will receive the content, though it’s very likely that we’ll get an announcement soon.
