Sony’s announced that Tim Schaaff, current president of Sony Network Entertainment, will retire effective December 31. This move will pave the way for Andrew House to assume responsibilities for the role, which comes in addition to his current post as President and Group CEO of SCEI (Sony Computer Entertainment Inc.) Following the transition, Schaaff will remain with Sony on the SNEI board of directors in external director capacity, as is usual for high-level execs.
“Tim has been a strong leader within Sony who truly embodied the ‘One Sony’ spirit by successfully leading corporate-wide initiatives across business units since he joined,” said Sony Corp CEO Kazuo Hirai. He added, “I thank Tim for his passion and innumerable contributions to the company.”
Schaaff joined SNE in December of 2005.
