Anarchy Reigns: Day One Edition was recently announced for a UK release. It looks like North America is confirmed for an identical deal, though Sega and Platinum Games aren’t calling it Day One Edition over here. Big deal? Nah, not really.

If you pre-order Anarchy Reigns at GameStop, you’ll score Bayonetta (not to be misread as “score with Bayonetta”) as a playable character. You’ll also get the Mad Survival and Dogfight modes. Mad Survival tasks three human partners with taking on waves of bad guys a la horde mode. Dogfight is a bit different, requiring players to hang from helicopters as they try to blast each other to bits. Okay, a little piece of my brain just exploded out of sheer joy after typing that.

Anarchy Reigns looks to provide a crazy dose of nonstop brawling action. If you dig Platinum’s work, you should probably watch out for this one. The game is due out on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on January 8. Oh, and it’ll cost a handsome $29.99, so there’s that.
